A College Student in King Arthur's Court

Another of my short story blogs, this one goes into more of a fantasy RPG genre. I think it'll give me more liberty into the environments and plots the story can take. I think this one'll turn out pretty good. Plus I like the title.

Journal of Lawrence Robinson: page 1

Something strange has happened. Yesterday, what I can only describe as a black tidal wave swept over campus. I was in my office grading some papers when I saw it out my window. I was frozen with fear. When it was near the building, I could only brace for impact. I felt nothing, but fell unconcious. When I awoke, I found myself in a small dark house. I found a door and went outside. What was once Ayres Hall has been replaced by some sort of castle. I returned to the place I awoke and found a blank book. That is what you're reading now. I'm just going to sleep and hope this is no more than a dream. If not, then I will investigate more in the morning.

Road to Cortitia

Chris picked up a thin book with a dark blue cover. He turned the book around several times until he was sure which side was the front. It took him a while to read through the fancy lettering, but he eventually decided this was the atlas. He opened the book and flipped through the pages. There were several maps of towns and villages. He turned back to the first few pages and found what appeared to be the country he was in. It was the word "Arundel" that caught his eye. Though the area seemed unlike any country he had seen he was fairly certain that this particular map was showing the country he was in. The country was somewhat triangular, shaped alot like South Carolina. The south-eastern side bordered a body of water that ran of the edge of the map. The rest was land. Across the center of the map, in large letters, was the name of the country: K A N D A R I N
Chris closed the atlas. Milo was focused on the horse. They were traveling down a dirt road surrounded by trees. Chris looked up and saw the sunlight pouring through the tree branches. He heard the sound of birds chirping and the cart's wheels hitting a few rocks. Even with the noises, it was surprisingly quiet. Chris laid back and watched the leaves and branches pass overhead.
